Dr Zamani Saul
The Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul is leading a provincial delegation, from the 22 to 26 November 2024 to Doha, state of Qatar. The delegation includes the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Ms. Venus Blennies-Magage, together with the Head of the Department, Mr. Thami Mabija, and the Acting CEO of NCEDA (Northern Cape Economic Development Agency), Mr. Shawn Modise as well as senior government officials.
The delegation will join delegations from the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape which are also led by their respective Premiers collectively led by Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.
The working visit is a follow-up visit which will focus on finalizing discussions with Qatar’s Ministry of Energy regarding their potential investment in the country’s strategic green hydrogen projects.
Specifically, the delegation will be presenting the following projects, which hold significant promise for energy generation, job creation, and economic growth in the respective provinces:
Eastern Cape: Hive Green Ammonia and Green Hydrogen Project; Northern Cape: Boegoebaai Green Hydrogen Project; and
Western Cape: Saldanha SEZ Green Hydrogen Project
📸The MEC responsible for COGHSTA, Transport, Safety and Liaison, Mr. Bentley Vass will be the acting Premier for the duration of the working visit.
The acting Premier was sworn in by the Northern Cape High Court Judge President, Pule Tlaletsi.
