Tokologo
The Lejweleputswa District Municipality recently held a heartfelt send-off function for the 38 chosen beneficiaries of the LGSETA – CHINA Training Programme. The municipality wished the beneficiaries everything of the best in their journey abroad and further appealed to them to never lose focus and represent the district and the country well. The candidates are set to travel to China for a duration of six (6) months, during which they will gain valuable experience related to their chosen academic fields.
Neo Mongana and Boitumelo Frans will be representing Tokologo Local Municipality in the programme. They told The Pixley Independent that this is an opportunity of a life time and they will grab it with both hands.
Said Mongani, “We appreciate efforts by our municipality and the People’s Republic of China for affording us this opportunity. We promise not to disappoint.”
According to Frans, this is a rare opportunity, “we are part of a chosen few and this means that we must represent our province well and make sure we learn as much as possible in order to uplift communities back home.”
They attributed the success of their journey to hard work by the Corporate Service Portfolio led by MMC Baleni and Director Corporate Services Me. SC Abrams.
In a statement the municipality said it acknowledges that the country has a long-standing cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in various areas of higher education and training which continues to grow and support South Africa’s knowledge and skills development and the municipality is no exception.
