President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered a keynote address at the National Women’s Day Commemoration, held under the theme “Celebrating 30 Years of Freedom Towards Women’s Development,” at Denis Nel Stadium in Pofadder, Northern Cape Province yesterday, 9th of August 2024.
The event marks 68 years since 20,000 women from diverse backgrounds across South Africa marched to the Union Buildings to protest the extension of Pass Laws to women.
Over the past 30 years of democracy, South Africa has made significant strides in advancing gender equality in all areas of society, including the economic empowerment of women.
