The Suzuki Stadium in Kimberley recently erupted in celebration as the Suzuki Griquas defeated the Fidelity ADT Lions in the Currie Cup semi-final to secure their place in the final.During the match, Northern Cape Premier Dr Zamani Saul pledged R2 million to the Griquas Women’s Rugby Team in recognition of their outstanding achievement.
The team was recently crowned champions of the SA Rugby Women’s First Division after defeating the Pumas in Nelspruit.Premier Saul attended the match alongside the MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr Mangaliso Matika, and senior government officials.The Northern Cape Provincial Government congratulates the Griquas on today’s emphatic victory and wishes them every success as they head to the Currie Cup Final to bring the title home!
