The Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul together with the MEC responsible for COGHSTA Mr. Bentley Vass met with the Deputy Minister of CoGTA Reverend Prince Burns-Ncamashe and his team. The meeting was convened to brief the Premier on progress regarding the Handbook for Traditional and KhoiSan Leadership.
The handbook was developed to give practical effect to section 15(2) of the Traditional and Khoi San Leadership Act, by identifying the resources or tools of trade that may be provided to Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders.
The Premier reaffirmed the Provinces commitment to strengthening Traditional Leadership structures and assured that the Province is ready to implement the handbook once all processes have been completed.
The Northern Cape Provincial Government enjoys a good working relationship with the Provincial House of Traditional and Khoi San Leadership and the institution of traditional leadership in general, and continues to build on this relationship.
