Roodepan
The Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul together with the MEC responsible for Education, Mr. Abraham Vosloo, on behalf of the Northern Cape Government, today launched the Basic Education Employment Initiative at Roodepan Primary School. Through this initiative, we have been able to provide employment within the education sector to 4838 young people, as Educator Assistants and General School Assistants. These roles provide vital support to schools, both inside and outside the classroom.
The initiative introduces several categories of support roles to schools, including:
* Curriculum Assistants;
* E-cadres;
* Reading Champions;
* Care and Support Assistants;
* Sport Enrichment Assistants;
* Laboratory and Workshop Assistants
In addition, 10 schools have been identified and received a donation of R70000 towards learning and teaching support aid, maintenance and infrastructure needs.
This initiative is a significant step toward improving education outcomes while empowering the youth of the Northern Cape to build brighter futures.
