The cooperation between South Africa and China continues to bear fruits; this is evident in a number of initiatives between the two nations.  In a bid to address the skills shortages, the Department of Higher Education and Training will send a number of local students to China to study scarce and critical skills of the future. In a recent statement the Department of Education said about 100 students will study in China next year.

Higher Education and Training Minister, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane (pictured) made the announcement during a media briefing held recently.

Nkabane noted that South Africa has a long-standing cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in various areas of higher education and training, which continues to grow and support South Africa’s knowledge and skills development.

“Our engagement with China aligns with South Africa’s strategic goals regarding technological advancement and international collaboration in education,” Nkabane said.
