The Northern Cape Department of Roads and Public Works advises all road users that Kolong Bridge in Pampierstad remains closed until further notice due to dangerous flooding caused by heavy water inflow.
Water levels remain high and the bridge is unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians.The public is strongly urged not to tamper with or remove warning signage on site. These signs are in place to protect lives.Motorists and pedestrians must follow all instructions from traffic officers monitoring the area.
A technical team from the department is being deployed to assess the bridge and determine when it can be safely reopened.Please avoid the area and use alternative routes. Your cooperation is critical to ensuring public safety.
