The Premier,Dr. Zamani Saul will lead a Northern Cape Delegation consisting of the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mrs Venus Blennies-Magage and the Acting CEO of the Northern Cape Economic Development Agency (NCEDA), Mr. Shawn Modise to Tokyo, Japan on a working visit from the 6-12 December 2024.
The Northern Cape delegation joins a delegation led by the Minister for Electricity and Energy, Mr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, consisting of the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Mr. Oscar Mabuyane, and other senior Government Officials. The engagements that have been scheduled provide a unique opportunity to engage with key Japanese companies and institutions that are global leaders in infrastructure development, energy transition, and financing.
These engagements align with the Northern Cape’s vision to position itself as a global hub for green hydrogen production, renewable energy, and industrial corridor development, particularly through the Boegoebaai project.
Key discussion points for each meeting will include trade opportunities, technological partnerships, and investment facilitation to support the Northern Cape Green Hydrogen Masterplan and broader industrial ambitions.
The MEC responsible for COGHSTA, Transport, Safety and Liaison, Mr. Bentley Vass, will be the Acting Premier, for the duration of the working visit.
