Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have announced that Stanley \u201cScreamer\u201d Tshabalala (pictured) has died at the age of 75. Erlier this year, Tshabalala spent some time in hospital after being shot during a home invasion.<\/p>\n

\u201cBra Stan\u201d, as he was affectionately known, was one of the biggest figures in the history of South African football.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In a distinguished career, Tshabalala was a founding member of Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, and went on to wear the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns, where his nickname \u201cScreamer\u201d was earned.<\/p>\n
In a brief statement on Thursday, Pirates said Tshabalala\u2019s death was \u201cuntimely\u201d.<\/p>\n
In 1992, he was appointed as the very first Bafana Bafana head coach after South Africa was welcomed back into international football after years of isolation due to Apartheid.<\/p>\n

In the 2000s, he moved on to Orlando Pirates, where he served as technical director, and later was seen as an \u201celder\u201d at the club.<\/p>\n
In recent years, he was part of the show \u201cSitting with Stan\u201d, which was aired on SuperSport.<\/p>\n
