The Dawid Kruiper Municipality has officially secured National Treasury approval for its second consecutive 33.3% Eskom debt write-off tranche. This milestone follows the municipality\u2019s initial success as the first local authority in the Northern Cape to qualify for the National Treasury Municipal Debt Relief Programme.<\/p>\n
The approval confirms that the municipality has maintained compliance with the programme\u2019s stringent criteria. This includes the consistent and timeous payment of its current Eskom account for another 12-month cycle. “Securing this second debt write-off is clear evidence of our disciplined financial management, despite a tough economic climate,” said the Executive Mayor of Dawid Kruiper Municipality, Mr David Kazi.<\/p>\n
