MEC for COGHSTA, in the Northern Cape, Mr Bentley Vass, congratulated three of the Northern Cape District Municipalities, awarded during a Gala Dinner at the 2025 National Good Governance Awards, on the sidelines of the Local Government Indaba, which started on Thursday, 02 October, to 03 October 2025, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.<\/p>\n
The Namakwa and Frances Baard District Municipalities were awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement in attaining Clean Audit Outcomes for the 2023 \u2013 2024 Financial Year.<\/p>\n
The ZF Mgcawu District Municipality was awarded in recognition of its outstanding achievement in achieving 100% Conditional Grant Expenditure.<\/p>\n
The Frances Baard District Municipality also received a second award in recognition of its outstanding achievement in adopting Funded Budgets for 10 Consecutive Years.<\/p>\n
MEC Vass said: \u2018\u2019These awards and the esteemed recognition are a testament to your unwavering commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability. Your dedication ensures that public funds are utilized effectively to benefit the communities you serve. We commend the diligent work of the political leadership and officials involved in maintaining these high standards and congratulate the three District Municipalities.
