\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n The MEC responsible for Tourism in the Northern Cape, Ms Venues Blennies-Magage, officially launched the Tourism Month 2025 at the Witsand Nature Reserve recently.<\/p>\n During the launch event, she highlighted the critical role of tourism in economic development and social transformation, resonating well with the month being celebrated under the global theme: \u201cTourism and Sustainable Transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the MEC, “this is not just a slogan\u2014it is a rallying cry. A call to rediscover the treasures in our own backyard, to support local tourism businesses, and to create meaningful memories with those we hold dear.”<\/p>\n This month is brimming with leisure and cultural events\u2014from lifestyle festivals to heritage celebrations\u2014all designed to connect locals and visitors in meaningful ways.<\/p>\n MEC Blennies told the Pixley Independent, \u201cDomestic tourism remains the heartbeat of our sector\u2019s recovery. That\u2019s why we proudly champion initiatives like Shot\u2019left Travel Week, offering unbeatable deals to explore the Northern Cape.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve launched a quadbike adventure at Witsand Nature Reserve, adding to our portfolio of active tourism. Witsand is a gateway to the Kalahari, Namakwa, Karoo, and Diamond Fields\u2014offering family-friendly activities, scenic picnic spots, and diverse accommodations.\u201d<\/p>\n The MEC further called on tourists not to miss Mahala Week from SANParks, granting free day-entry to our iconic Arid Parks: Mokala near Kimberley, Augrabies Falls, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Richtersveld in Namakwa.<\/p>\n The Northern Cape tourism brand pillars include Real Nature, Real Culture, Real Adventure, and these, according to MEC Blennies, are not just words. They are lived experiences.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Northern Cape is not just a destination\u2014it\u2019s a feeling.
