{"id":1088,"date":"2025-01-26T12:08:58","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T10:08:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pixleyindependent.co.za\/?p=1088"},"modified":"2025-01-26T12:08:58","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T10:08:58","slug":"vass-delivers-100-shova-kalula-bicycles-to-schools-in-the-namakwa-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pixleyindependent.co.za\/?p=1088","title":{"rendered":"Vass Delivers 100 Shova Kalula Bicycles to Schools in the Namakwa District."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nababeep<\/p>\n<p>MEC Bentley Vass, responsible for COGHSTA, and Transport, Safety and Liaison, accompanied by the Councillor Riaan Cloete (Namakwa District) and Councillor Sylvia Cloete (Nama-Khoi Municipality), the Head of Department, Rodney Pieterse and other dignitaries, delivered 100 Shova Kalula Bicycles to the St. Cyprian and Sacred Heart Primary Schools in Nababeep, in the Namakwa District.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the Shova Kalula Bicycle programme started in 2005, is to improve access to education of learners staying between three (3) to five (5) kilometres away from schools, especially in rural areas, but also adapted to suit other needs of learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>MEC Vass addressing the learners said \u2018\u2019These brand-new bicycles will help you to be on time at school and to attend other extra-mural activities of the school, without many challenges.
